Director of Children & Family Ministry
Lora Isakson serves as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, where she is passionate about helping children grow in faith and discover God’s love. She enjoys creating engaging, hands-on opportunities for children to learn Bible stories, build relationships, and develop a strong foundation in Christ. Lora is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where every child feels valued, loved, and encouraged in their faith journey.
Lora also serves as the Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) Coordinator for the Western North Dakota Synod, where she supports youth in growing their faith, developing leadership skills, and building connections with other young people across the synod.
Lora earned her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science with a concentration in Human Services and a minor in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania. Her professional background includes work in domestic violence prevention, child and family advocacy, and education. These experiences have shaped her compassionate and energetic approach to ministry and strengthened her commitment to supporting children, youth, and families.
In addition to her ministry roles, Lora is a frequent substitute teacher in Bismarck Public Schools and is actively involved in her local community.
Lora lives in Bismarck with her husband, Patrick; their son, Rilan; twin daughters, Landry and Quinn; and two Small Munsterlanders, Philly and Gracie. She enjoys singing, playing ukulele, crafting, and spending time outdoors—especially kayaking, hiking, and hunting.
